Evaluation and Response.

Based on some of the experiments I conducted I think I can safely say that my research project has worked and I was able to explore how to convey the Gothic elements I listed and into other Periods and genres . The gothic genre lends itself well to most periods after its conception in the early victorian era . Throughout history , Artists , Film makers and other creative people have managed to successfully transfer the gothic into film, art, books and fashion, it is foremost a very visually stimulating genre and when done right, it can be used for the majority of genres and periods.

The three that I chose to convey seemed to work well with the gothic elements , though I found that once I did this the characters seemed to change a little in personality and morals. This is because of the social context that is associated with the settings though and nothing really to do with the gothic elements. I found that they were able to retain their Isolated and High Emotional Levels but they're personalities and speech changed  slightly due to the social context  but I expected this because a group of characters from the victorian era are going to speak differently when placed in a modern setting .

Knowing that the look of the Gothic genre works well the settings I chose I can now make a response to my experiments.
using the some of the techniques , palettes and compositions I used in my experiments, I made an image which shows how even though they are all differing in social, historical and fictional context, all of the adaptations of my character Nicholas are part individual yet have that single starting point of the original character who is placed in Victorian Era  London.

This is only one of the responses as I have the comic experiments and If i had more time I would have liked to have done this type of response for the rest of my characters as well as maybe try to explore other media such as film and animation to convey the same response.
Overall the project was a success because I was able to find out that I can indeed convey the Gothic genre in other settings and my characters and narrative was able to suit each experiment very well, the only thing I would have liked to have done differently is to have had more time to generate more responses to this research project but I am happy with the ones I was able to complete and I will continue to explore this research question because it seems like an interesting pathway for my comic/ characters and my personal practise / work / exploration.
